Slippery Rock Baptist Camp SRBC

 DECEMBER  2011

SRBC has been officially closed for 2011.  BUT it’s time to plan for next year.  SRBC will open again in April of 2012.  That gives us a little more than 3 months to get everything ready to go again!

As you receive newsletters, we will be listing items needed and repairs to be made.  It is the prayer of the board that the churches or individual people will step up to the challenge of the tasks.  We would like to see churches or Sunday school classes or individuals take a project as their own, such as a cabin that would need cleaned and repairs made for summer.  Other work would include mowing, grounds & building clean up, pool preparation and equipment maintenance.

At the fall Western PA Association Thanksgiving meeting & dinner, an offering of $812 for the new building at SRBC was taken.  2011 was a year of learning that God is in control of our camp.  Financial needs for the new building were miraculously met.  God supplied over $12,000 for doors and windows.  During this winter we hope to continue to put siding on the outside as weather permits.  Work can be done on the inside as well.  As spring comes the need will be approximately $13,000 for the sprinkler system required by code.  Please pray that God will lay it upon hearts to donate money for this need.

Pray for Pastor Dave and the Board as they plan for 2012 camping season.  God’s leading is needed as speakers and staff come together.  Pastor Dave, Ron & Judy Hemphill and Luke & Lexxie Jones are available for speaking engagements in your church.  They can be scheduled by calling Pastor Dave at 724-287-7241.

May each of you have a Blessed Christmas as we remember our Savior’s birth!  What have you done for your Lord and Savior this year of 2011?   May we desire to do more as we enter into 2012.

Every Saturday is a work day on the new building.

SRBC Paintball is open each Friday from 3 PM–dark & each Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM.  It is available at other times by appointment.  Contact Josh Cumberland email srpaintball@ymail.com.
